ASAOKA, Teruhiko, TAMURA, Keiko, MIYAMURA, Keita, HATAI, Kengo and NINOMIYA, Shoichiro represented a bereaved family in the case that Central Japan Railway Company sued the bereaved family for damages arising from the accident that a person with dementia was run over by a train and killed as he trespassed to the railway track from the door at the head of platform. The Supreme Court on March 1, 2016 quashed the judgment of Nagoya High Court for the case and rejected all claims of Central Japan Railway Company on the grounds that his spouse and family members did not fall under a person obligated to supervise the person.
